Arburg Opens New Subsidiary In Romania

Injection molding machine manufacturer Arburg has opened a new subsidiary in Bucharest, Hungary, expanding its influence in the so-called "emerging economic zone" of Southeast Europe. The new department is led by interim general manager Daniel Orel, who is responsible for Arburg's subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Orel stated in a press release that its former trading partner, Arburg, with whom it has been working since 2000, has closed its business instead of handing it over to the company, which has led Arburg to open subsidiaries to support its Romanian and international customers. The company stated that most of its existing service technicians have been absorbed into the new business, resulting in 11 employees who have been working in Bucharest since the beginning. Arburg stated that an increasing number of companies are installing very complex systems in the country, and global companies are relocating entire production lines to Romania. Given the vast territory of the country, Arburg stated that it will continue to use decentralized service organizations. Automobiles are Romania's main market, with other businesses in electronics, construction, packaging, and home goods as well. For a long time, the industry has been dominated by hydraulic presses and is using more motors. The proportion of robot systems and automation is also increasing. Arburg pointed out that most of its clients are large and medium-sized German and international companies located in Transylvania, northwest of the Carpathian Mountains. With the establishment of a new subsidiary in Romania, Arburg now has independent subsidiaries in 37 locations across 27 countries/regions and trading partners in over 100 countries/regions.
