The most common and effective method for plastic processing units is to remove the plastic fixed on the screw by burning or roasting. After the screw is used, a spray gun is immediately used for cleaning. Due to the heat generated during processing, the heat distribution of the screw is still uniform. But never use acetylene flame to clean the screw. The temperature of acetylene flame can reach 3000 ° C. Using acetylene flame to clean the screw will not only damage the metal properties of the screw, but also significantly affect the mechanical tolerance of the screw.

If the acetylene flame turns into a persistent blue color when baking a certain part of the screw, it means that the metal structure of this part of the screw has changed, which will lead to a decrease in wear resistance of that part, and even cause the wear layer to peel off from the base metal. In addition, using acetylene flame for local heating can also cause overheating on one side of the screw, leading to bending of the screw. Most screws are made of 4140. H.T. steel with very tight tolerances, generally within 0.03mm.

The flatness of the screw is mostly within 0.01mm, and it is usually difficult to return to its original flatness after being baked and cooled by an acetylene flame. Correct and effective method: Clean the screw immediately with a blowtorch after use. Because the screw carries heat during the processing, the heat distribution of the screw is still uniform.
