Comparison of prices between HDPE pipes, PVC-U pipes, PP-R pipes, and aluminum plastic composite pipes:
Outdoor water supply pipes mainly include ductile Cast iron pipe, galvanized steel pipes, PVC-U water supply pipes, HDPE pipes, etc. The reason why HDPE water supply pipes can achieve such rapid development and application is that HDPE pipes are economical and practical. Here is a project example to illustrate.
For example, in a project, the outdoor water supply pipeline needs to be introduced from a municipal water supply pipeline 500m away, with a diameter of DN400. To the building property line, it is divided into two paths for water inlet, with a diameter of DN300. The total length of the outdoor loop pipe is about 800 meters. It was originally designed as ductile Cast iron pipe. According to the company's regulations, it is necessary to compare the economy of the pipeline system. We will analyze the cost of ductile Cast iron pipe pipe and HDPE pipe respectively and estimate the project cost. After comparative analysis, we found that:
(1) The price of ductile Cast iron pipe is DN400 yuan/m, DN300 yuan/m; The price of HDPE pipe is: DN400 － yuan/m, DN300 － yuan/m. From the unit price of pipe, the price of ductile Cast iron pipe is better than that of HDPE pipe.
(2) Since HDPE pipes are connected by hot melting, the construction is difficult, and the installation cost is more than 40% higher than that of ductile Cast iron pipe.
(3) Due to the good flexibility of HDPE pipes, they can be directly laid without pipe fittings when encountering obstacles or the pipe trench is not straight, but the ductile Cast iron pipe is not good, and sometimes they must be transiently connected with pipe fittings such as elbows or zigzag pipes. In this way, HDPE pipe is better than nodular Cast iron pipe in pipe fitting.
(4) HDPE pipes are connected by hot melt butt joints, and the strength of the interface is very good. Ductile Cast iron pipe is connected by socket and spigot, and concrete reinforcement piers are required to be tamped at tees, elbows and other parts for reinforcement. Of course, the cost in this regard is higher for ductile Cast iron pipe pipes than for HDPE pipes.
(5) HDPE pipes do not require anti-corrosion. If ductile Cast iron pipe is selected as the water supply pipe, anti-corrosion treatment is required for the inner and outer walls of the ductile iron pipe.
(6) The normal service life of the ductile Cast iron pipe is 20-25 years after the anti-corrosion treatment of the inner and outer walls of the pipe. HDPE pipes do not exhibit corrosion and have a normal service life of 50 years.
