Plastic pipes have made great progress and improvement in design theory and construction technology in architecture, and have accumulated rich practical experience. This has led to plastic pipes occupying a significant position in building water supply and drainage pipeline engineering and forming an unstoppable development trend. In China, the main plastic pipes used in water supply pipelines include PVC U water supply pipes, PP R pipes, aluminum plastic composite pipes (PAP), steel plastic composite pipes (SP), HDPE pipes, etc. HDPE pipes are formed using advanced production processes and technologies through hot extrusion, and have characteristics such as corrosion resistance, smooth inner walls, low flow resistance, high strength, good toughness, and light weight. HDPE pipes have become the world's second-largest consumer of plastic pipes, following PVC-U drainage pipes.
1, Development of HDPE water supply pipes
In the water supply and drainage pipeline system, plastic pipes have gradually replaced traditional pipes such as Cast iron pipe and galvanized steel pipes and become mainstream pipes. Compared with traditional pipes, plastic pipes have significant advantages such as light weight, corrosion resistance, low water flow resistance, energy conservation, easy and fast installation, and low cost, and have been loved by the pipeline engineering community. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of the petrochemical industry and the continuous progress of plastic manufacturing technology, the production of plastic pipes has rapidly increased, and the types of products have become more diverse.
HDPE pipes have become the world's second-largest consumer of plastic pipes, following PVC-U drainage pipes. Gas transmission should use PE80 and PE100 grade medium or high-density polyethylene pipes; Water supply pipes usually use PE80 and PE100 grade medium or high-density polyethylene pipes, while PE63 has gradually become obsolete. In terms of water transportation, the fastest growing system is the PE100 pipeline system, with a growth rate expected to reach over 10% in the next five years.
In Europe, HDPE pipelines have undergone more rapid development and application, gradually replacing the position of PVC-U pipelines as the main consumer pipeline. Meanwhile, HDPE pipes are gradually being used outside of Europe.
2, HDPE pipe specifications and connection methods
The diameter of HDPE pipes ranges from DN32 to DN1000, with a total of 26 levels. The pressure level is between 0.6Mpa and 1.6Mpa, with a total of 5 levels.
HDPE pipes will be melted between 190 ℃ and 240 ℃. By utilizing this characteristic, the two melted parts of the pipe (or fitting) can be fully contacted and maintained at appropriate pressure. After cooling, the two can be firmly integrated. Therefore, the connection method of PE pipes is different from U-PVC pipes, usually using two methods: electric heating fusion connection and hot melting docking. According to the size of the pipe diameter, it can be divided into: when DN ≤ 63, injection molding hot melting socket connection is used; When DN ≥ 75, use hot melt butt connection or electric melt socket connection; When connecting with different materials, use flanges or threaded connections.
In terms of pipeline repair methods, there are expansion pipe construction method and HDPE lining method.
