After the stabilizer for hard PVC products is transformed from lead salts to environmentally friendly stabilizers such as calcium and zinc, color issues are also a common and diverse problem that is relatively difficult to solve. Its manifestations include the following:
1. The replacement of stabilizers results in a change in the color of the product. After the stabilizer is converted from lead salt to calcium zinc, it is easy to notice that the color of the product often tends to turn blue, and it is difficult to achieve a color transition from green to red.
2. The internal and external colors of the product are inconsistent after using environmentally friendly stabilizers. Usually, the external color is relatively positive, while the internal color tends to turn green and yellow. This situation can easily occur in profiles, as well as in pipes.
3. Color drift of products during processing after using environmentally friendly stabilizers. In the process of using lead salt stabilizers to process products, there may be some color deviation between different machines, and at different time periods on the same machine, but the fluctuation range is relatively small. After using environmentally friendly stabilizers, this fluctuation may become greater, and the small fluctuations in raw materials and processes may also have a more significant impact on the color scheme. I have encountered situations where pressure changes not only affect the color of the product, but also affect its performance when using environmentally friendly stabilizers to produce pipes and fittings. This change is much more sensitive than when using lead salt stabilizers.
4. Color issues during storage, transportation, and use of products after the use of environmentally friendly stabilizers. Hard PVC products using traditional lead salt stabilizers have relatively small color changes during storage, transportation, and use. After being converted to environmentally friendly stabilizers such as calcium and zinc, there may be a tendency to turn yellow and blue after standing. Some stabilizers may cause redness when used in products with high iron ion content in calcium powder.
The main reason for color issues is that the material components of environmental stabilizers are relatively complex, and the thermal stability in the early, middle, and later stages is achieved through the collaboration of multiple materials. Each component has a certain impact on the color of the product, and the combination of multiple components creates various possibilities.
