How To Solve Common Faults Of Plastic Granulators

Common faults of plastic granulators include high or low torque of the main motor, friction clutch failure, and screw segment failure of the granulator.
Main motor torque too high
Cause analysis: Oil lubrication system failure, poor alignment of the main motor and gearbox inlet and outlet shafts, and vibration of the motor and clutch will all damage the main motor bearings, resulting in excessive torque. Excessive feeding load or poor material melting can also cause excessive torque of the main motor.
Solution: Regularly inspect and clean the lubricating oil system, measure the main motor bearings with a vibration measuring instrument and an infrared thermometer, and form a trend chart. If the trend value is exceeded, determine whether the idle current or power value of the main motor exceeds the specified value, and determine whether the bearing should be replaced.
Regularly check the alignment between the output shaft of the main motor and the input shaft of the gearbox. After the first start-up or replacement of bearings for three months, the alignment must be checked. Conduct electrical testing and inspection to determine the cause of rotor imbalance; Conduct a vibration speed test on the clutch, and if it exceeds the specified value, readjust the dynamic balance. Regularly inspect the heating and cooling systems of the cylinder to ensure that the materials are evenly heated and fully melted. If the power curve of the main motor and the melt pressure curve increase instantaneously during the operation of the extruder, it indicates that the feeding amount of the feeding system is too large and should be reduced.
Main motor torque too low
Cause analysis: The feeding system malfunction causing the double screw to spin will cause the main motor torque to be too low.
Solution: Check and determine if there is a malfunction in the additive system or main material feeding system, and clean the blockage points of the plastic granulator.
Friction clutch failure
Reason analysis: The starting voltage of the main motor is too low; The instrument air pressure of the friction clutch is too high; The speed difference of the friction clutch is too large.
Solution: When starting the main motor, avoid peak electricity consumption, reduce the feeding load, and the minimum interval between restarts is 30 minutes; In summer, when starting the main motor more than twice, the interval should be extended or forced to cool down with a fan. Blow with instrument air and wipe off dust stains on the surface of the friction plate and friction disc with a cloth. Confirm whether the air pressure value can make the friction plate and friction plate fit together.
Fault in the screw process section of the granulator
Reason analysis: The melt pressure before and after the throttle valve is too high; Excessive melt pressure at the machine head; Excessive pressure difference between the melt before and after the screen changer; Fault in the rotation of the driving valve, etc.
Solution: If the power curve of the main motor and the melt pressure curve increase immediately after the extruder is started, it indicates that the feeding amount of the feeding system is too large and should be reduced.
