How To Choose A Cutting Machine When Producing Pipes On The Extruder Production Line

The extruder production line can continuously produce plastic pipes. As the production of pipes is uninterrupted and the pipes have a fixed length specified by standards, in order to ensure the standard length of the pipes, we need to use auxiliary equipment such as a cutting machine to cut the pipes according to the required length. Different specifications of pipes will use different cutting machines, so how do we choose a cutting machine?
The cutting methods of pipes can generally be divided into two types: manual cutting and automatic cutting. We will produce pipes with a small diameter (within 50mm), and in many cases, many manufacturers will use saws for manual cutting. However, in order to improve production efficiency and ensure the length accuracy of plastic pipes, the extrusion machine production lines currently produced are also equipped with automatic cutting machines.
The cutting tools used on the extruder can be cut with circular saw blades or with circular grinding wheels. The saw blade or grinding wheel is directly driven by an electric motor and a V-belt to rotate at high speed. When the extruded pipe reaches the required length, the clamping device on the cutting machine clamps the pipe, and the saw blade starts and cuts the pipe. At this point, the entire clamping and cutting mechanism slides forward along with the extrusion traction force of the pipe moving forward on the track of the cutting machine. After the pipe is cut, the saw blade stops rotating, the clamping device opens, and the cutting clamping device returns to its original position along the original forward track, preparing for the next cutting action.
For some small diameter pipes, we will choose a knife lift cutting machine. This type of cutting machine is the simplest and has lower operating costs. Pipes with lower production requirements generally use this type of cutting machine.
Sometimes we also choose chip free cutting machines, which have complex manufacturing processes and good cutting effects. When producing pipes with high production environment requirements, most people choose this type of cutting machine.
When we use a plastic extruder to produce larger diameter pipes, we choose a planetary automatic cutting machine, which is composed of multiple small diameter saw blades combined to form a circular shape around the pipe being cut. When the pipe needs to be cut, these small diameter saw blades can rotate at high speed and revolve around the outer circle of the pipe. Using this method to cut large diameter pipes has fast cutting speed and flat cutting end face.
