In the Spring and Autumn Period, Yue conquered Wu, and King Goujian of Yue wanted to dominate China. Therefore, in the 25th year of Goujian's reign, he moved the capital to Langya and erected a watchtower to look at the East China Sea. After the unification of the six states by Qin, the First Emperor ascended to Langya in the south and relocated 30000 households under the Langya Terrace to rebuild it.
